Joshua Lopez statement from Twitter - April, 27, 2018: "Yesterday we pulled together an amazing event around unity and bridge building. Unfortunately one individual and his associates showed up uninvited and gave a two minute speech filled with despicable comments all of which I reject. I do not stand for any level of hate. Unfortunately this is the one sound bite some media outlets are running with & it’s a bit disappointing and does disservice to everyone else who showed up in the spirit of solidarity and peace. I have now been attacked and have been unfairly branded as a promoter of hate. This is not who I am and what I stand for. Furthermore, Councilmember David Grosso is calling on me to resign from the DC Housing Authority. I will not step down. Instead, I will continue to push forward with the message of unity building. There will be hiccups along the way and naysayers who will jump at the opportunity to continue to divide us, but I remain committed to what I view as a life long pursuit to improve our world. Thank you." https://twitter.com/JoshuaLopez202/status/989892820277358592
There will be HICCUPS?? And the NAYSAYERS are making trouble? And HE has been attacked? Aw....poor baby. This is the same shit we've been seeing.....where Jews are subjected to antisemitic attacks, and now the sympathy is supposed to lie with the one who enabled it. And it was a TWO-minute speech filled with despicable comments?! That's a long time for him to stand shoulder to shoulder with the Farrakhanite, holding his bullhorn while he spewed his hate. Anyway, of course he's trying to save his job - after the fact. I applaud Grasso for demanding his resignation. It's time the DC Council took concrete action to tell the country - this has made national news - that Washington, DC does not tolerate racism, even when it against the Jewish people.
