That's an interesting perspective, but it's not the policy currently in place at MCPS. It's also not consistent with what the METIS report says MCPS should be doing to remedy the fact that there are more qualified students than seats at the magnets. (Hint: METIS report says the best solution to the problem is essentially to just dismantle the magnet programs, so that's what MCPS is doing slowly but surely.)
