Even if this boy lives, he won't have much cognitive functioning I assume. How does that work with a trial? What will come of this? I hope his parents share some info and insights. I assume he struggled with mental illness? if so, did they get help? Were they turned away from psychiatric facilities? Was he on meds? Was there anything more that could have done beyond OF COURSE making sure a minor doesn't get a gun? Who indoctrinated him into this ideology? Honestly, I think the family members at some point need to come forward and do something to make sure something decent comes out of this-even if it's a cry for better help for the mentally ill or a acknowledgement that they wished they did more to prevent this. These 2 people cannot die in vain. Something has to come out this that moves things forward either with gun control or mental health care or recognizing warning signs. [/quote]
