He was rich as %$#@ -- sort of guy who's used to single gold digging women chasing him like lost puppies (or horses, in the case of SJP). I'd watch reruns of SATC if there was a way to block out all scenes with Miranda (and Steve). Nothing makes my skin crawl more than her. Also wasn't a big fan of when Sam got cancer. Made a fun show depressing, a downer. And the writers who made Charlotte marry an ugly Jewish guy were prob projecting.
Girls like Char are snapped up by at the longest 28. There's no way she'd be single OR hang out with trashy women like Carrie and crew.
Charlotte was a KKG at Smith, she would have met some filthy rich handsome Harvard boy on a ski trip and he would have proposed to her at graduation. He'd end up at a white shoe law firm or an investment banker. They'd live in CT by age 28.
+1
I agree- that's funny, I also thought Charlotte was way too upper class and pretty to be in that group. For a while, sure- but she would be snapped up quite quickly- not all this drama (though it is a tv show). As for big, I dated a Mr Big in many ways- mid-wealthy, very attractive, suave, upper class (not that I am not but as my friend said he was one of "the beautiful people"). Watching SATC - which wasn't that far off from when we stopped dating- hit home. We also did go back and forth- became just friends - it lasted a few years of going in and out of each others lives.
Maybe Charlotte's backstory was that she was in a long term relationship in her twenties that ended when she entered her 30s for whatever reason. She then hung out with these awful single women and she got caught up in their life style and it didn't help much with her love life. Like...a 30something woman most likely will not find a husband partying at a club at 2.0 with Carrie Bradshaw.
