BLS reports 49,320 clergy in the US alone: https://www.bls.gov/oes/current/oes212011.htm. And 756 across 30 countries and all the major world religions have lost their faith and joined the Clergy Project. Phhhttt.
Ok...and? Did I ever claim every clergy in the world was dropping religion like a hot potato? No. More outrage. You just want to be outraged. Got it. -OP
PP and a few others here think any post about religion that does not support religious belief or might challenge belief or hurt the feelings of a believer is unfit for the religion forum. Imagine if the same sentiment was held in other forums. There would be no criticizing of schools, teachers, administrators or systems and no comparing of one school unfavorably to another or suggesting that a school be closed or a educational technique was outdated or no longer effective. In the relationships forum, the focus would be on how to make good marriages even better and not on the benefits of divorce in certain cases or the option of being single. And on the political forum, everyone would agree that respecting people's views meant that there could be no negative comments about political issues, candidates or parties.
Oh please. You attack us, so we push back. Don't try to make this into something cosmic about freedom of speech, that's so pathetic. Instead, take responsibility for your own bigotry and flame throwing.
Interesting idea. So there have been many attacks on atheists recently. Please share where you all took responsibility for those. Or is it perfectly ok for "believers" to troll and spread hate?
"Many attacks" = three threads over the past month that you or another atheist was able to put together. vs Countless attacks on people of faith in this thread and others. In this thread alone: making up nonsense you insist we believe. You're like the playground bully who complains that her knuckles get bruised when she hits people.
JFC. Did you even read this thread? Open hostility from "beilievers" from the start, including name-calling. Again, that's all perfectly fine to you because they're believers. Got it. Take your head out of your a$$ and take a look in the mirror. You are the bully here.
Quotes, please. The first few pages are quiet until somebody who wasn't me shook her head at both the "crazy fundie" and "confirmation-bias militant atheist OP." (As an aside, the data on the apostate clergy relative to total clergy do make that Vice article look biased.) Who got outraged? Not the "crazy fundie." You guys started acting like atheism itself was under attack, as opposed to OP whose bad judgement was what was being called into question here. SMH at this faux outrage over manufactured slights. What's so hard to understand about "confirmation bias" referring to OP's behavior, not to her lack of belief? You do it again when you call a request that you take responsibility for your behavior "Exhibit A" in some made-up attack on atheists in general. Good bye. I realize that, like a pre-teen, you will continue to beat around every bush rather than take responsibility for your own behavior.
"Take responsibility for my behavior"?? Take a look in the mirror. 12:09, 12:12, 12:47, and it just escalated from there. Not that you'll read this because you're gone, right?
