No AD(H)D or anything like that- I've checked out Commonwealth and actually have a friend there (FCPS wasn't dealing very well with his Aspergers so he transferred). He loves it, but I'm worried the instructional focus is more on caring for kids with learning/emotional/developmental impairments than on academic challenge and provocation of thought. Does this sound right to you, or am I missing out on an important perspective on the school?

sorry, I was the PP and just found this response months later.  C/A's mission is geared for ADHD or exec. functioning kids from average to gifted.  My son had a wonderful five years there, did extremely well on his grades, GPA, testing, ACT, SAT II subject matter tests and AP placement.  He had plenty of AP work and also took college courses, as did his classmates, at NOVA, Georgetown and GMU.[/quote]
