I'll preface this by saying I did NOT vote for trump. But how can anyone defend illegal immigration? Why would anyone bother to come here legally if there are zero repercussions for taking the easy route and not going through the process? Genuinely wondering.
I just answered but to more directly answer your question...most immigrants cannot come here legally. There are very few openings for such so called legally immigration especially by the poor who are most desperate to come here. Do you know what is going on in central America with gang violence? It is awful stuff and good people there are desperate to escape. America was historical a refuge fir the desiderate. That means something to me.
So let them all in. Isn't fair they leave people behind in violence and they sneak in here. Seems pretty selfish to me. Help your country. Hey, what about Sudan. Should we take them all in too? It's much worse there than El Salvador. Just because other countries have their problems/violence/war does not mean you get to break a federal law and expect the red carpet to roll out for you. And why US? Why not Mexico, Brazil, Costa Rica? Oh, I know. Because we don't keep tight borders or jail them if caught. All the other countries do.
