OP, review the policies your school has and feel free to ask the principal if the policies are being followed, and if not, why. It's possible the principal did do something, but it may not be obvious to those not directly involved.

DCPS has forms for reporting bullying of any kind. Each school has either the principal or a Bullying Designee as the main point of contact for reports. Anonymous reports are allowed, but they prefer names so that all families involved can be contacted.

If your child is expressing concern to you about the situation, you should absolutely mention it to the principal and school counselor/Bullying Designee. Sometimes kids know a lot more about what's going on than adults. Your kid doesn't have to be the direct target of bullying to feel the effects of intimidation. If it bothers your child, then say something.

Parent gossip [i]alone[/i] is not helpful to administrators unless you think there's a potential safety issue. In that case, someone in the gossip group should file a report anonymously.

Hopefully this parent will stop acting like a jerk and the students will all feel safe.[/quote]
