I wish so much that I had a Wegmans closer. It's awesome. Whole Foods might be pretty, but it is just staggeringly expensive. I simply cannot justify paying such a premium.
I am usually a Whole Foods shopper. I went to the Wegman's in Alexandria. It was very attractively laid out, but the prices were no better than at WF. The fish was more expensive and appeared to be of a similar quality. The meat was the same price. Vegetables were the same price. Fruit may have been slightly cheaper. Cheeses were more expensive. They didn't have the baby food pouches my son likes. This is all I usually buy at WF. So for me it wasn't worth the trip out to Wegmans. I will concede that their baked goods are far superior to WF, but I don't buy baked goods that often.
