The live animal demos are not done all the time and you want to be sure to go on a day when it's happening. Also, I've seen demos several times; set your child's expectations so he understands that any live demo will probably not include a scorpion though he likely can see one behind glass; however, it's WAY fun to get to hold a hissing giant cockroach!
