Looking at the leading Capitol Hill-area elementary schools (% Language Arts, Math at or above proficiency standard): SWS 66/63 Brent 61/61 Maury 44/44 Ludlow Taylor 42/40 Two Rivers 43/40 Watkins 30/39 Jo Wilson 24/35 This is pretty consistent with recent years and not surprising based purely on SES levels in the testing grades at each school. Interesting that Maury and Ludlow Taylor are essentially the same at this point. Two Rivers and Watkins are also in the same general range as Maury and LT.
I don't think these scores bear out that Watkins is in the same range as 2R/LT/Maury in ELA; a 12-14 point difference is pretty huge. Like, Watkins is actually closer to JO Wilson than Maury on BOTH measures. SWS comes in at 66/63, so it's basically in T1 with Brent. Logan (35/34) comes out basically the same as Watkins, so a bit worse than I expected.
Yikes, Maury is diverse enough to report both AA and white scores independently, and white comes in at 78/78 and AA comes in at 18/16. That is horrifying. (Compare that to, e.g., the Brent numbers which are 72/74 and 44/37, respectively; or L-T, which is 39/35 for AA; or even JO Wilson, which is 23/34 for AA.
