If bright cohort is very tiny, she may have many problems. How many will take Algebra II in 2017-2018 (next year, when compacted kids will start 8th grade)? I bet less than 10. I know for a fact that at most 4 kids will take Algebra II in Takoma in 2017-2018. That is because only 4 where allowed to take Algebra 1 in 6th grade last year (say thank you to MCPS Compacted Math)...They also stopped Science for HS in Takoma, I guess again per MCPS request... So do not assume something that was at school yesterday, will stay tomorrow... We are closing achievement gap here, so everyone is equal and there would be less and less opportunities to advance until HS. [/quote]
