You still don't know how your DD will do that first day, how the teacher manages the classroom. There were kids in my DD's classroom who were still really having trouble separating that whole week, even kids who had been in preschool or daycare. That first week or two are important to get into the rhythms and expectations. Take an extra day Columbus Day weekend, but in your case I don't think it's the best idea.[/quote]
