How big is the scratch? I've had my car scratched, dinged in tight spots. I have probably done the same to other cars. I just see it as part of life living in an urban jungle. Unless the scratch is huge or deep, it wouldn't bother me that much if someone did it to me. But then, I don't see my car as a status symbol.
spoken like a true ahole
how am i an ahole if I it doesn't bug me when someone does that to me? If it bugged me when done to me, but not if I did it to someone else, then yes, I would be an ahole. But, I don't see it in this case. I did ask how big the scratch was. Why do people get upset over a little scratch on a car?
Respecting property is one of the first things my children learned. In case you miss that lesson at home they teach it in the public schools starting from kindergarten through high school. NO it is not normal to scratch or ding other people's vehicles and act like it's not big deal. Hopefully your children turn out better.
Was it done on purpose? If it was, then yes, it's not respecting people's property. But if it wasn't, then it was an accident and has nothing to do with respecting people's property. You can try to be careful, but sometimes it happens. I don't make a big stink over it when it happens to me. I get dings and scratches on my car all the time when driving on the roads. It's a part of life when you drive in an urban area. If it's just a little scratch, then get over it. You are fighting a losing battle if you think your car won't get dinged once in a while. Maybe you are one of those people who take two parking spots just so no one parks next to you and accidentally scratches your car. You are the true ahole.
