Is this necessary?  I rent out our beach house, and these items are provided, and I restock them.   I thought everyone did.[/quote]
All the houses we've rented provide a tiny sample size of everything so you're not stuck on the first day but after that, you're going to need some more toilet paper, paper towels, and soap, and they tell you that in the rental agreement. I was thrilled when I found a rental agency in OBX that automatically provides sheets and towels. So much more convenient.

OP, the house will have dishes and a dishwasher but you'll need to bring the dishwasher detergent. We did bring paper goods but just bring enough to get you through the first couple of days. There is always a grocery store around if you run out. [/quote]
