All lives will matter, the day that black lives matter. That was great. Wish she would have mentioned Tamir Rice, 12 years old, murdered by police. They wouldn't even let his mother hold him as he lay dying. That would have NEVER happened were he not black. Dear police officers, Please stop killing black people. Thx
Dear black people - stop committing crimes. Thx
Dear white people - stop acting like black people aren't responsible for the majority of wealth in this country but are treated as second class citizens. Acknowledge that a group of your white ancestors systematically terrorized black people and repeatedly tried to kill their humanity. Successful up-and-coming blacks were killed or permitted to rise. This shooting down of any progress over and over again got us to where we are today. Know that you are a product of the hard work of blacks and whites using them as stepping stones. We don't need your guilt. We need your acknowledge and action. The superiority (the belief that blacks somehow put themselves in this situation) is ridiculous. Some beliefs that ignore the numerous efforts at removing black progress (which is why there's so few) are counter-productive. If you really believe that all lives matter, acknowledge that black people have savagely treated and the effects seen today are a result of continued degradation. I am black and have mostly white friends (as result of where I live, profession, etc). I feel like they are completely oblivious to history and present day circumstances. Noone should be held back. The world needs to stop holding back blacks then blaming them for their troubles. Yes, this is systemic. It will only be solves through ACTIVE efforts to move the black people that were held back forward. Let's start with education.
