Compare PG horrible test score to 90 percent of other counties in the country I'm sure more times tben not PG will come out on top. I'm more curious as to why the complaints are always about "everyone else child". What are ur children doing ? Everybody complains about test scores well that's because " everybody " ain't doing their job.
Sadly, this is true. People don't realize how much better the worse MD public schools are than many of the best public schools in the South or other areas. That doesn't mean that you shouldn't demand school reform, but just put it in perspective. It's like people in the relationship forum that compare their wives' bodies to those of 19 year old porn stars and high fashion models. Your wife can be a size 10 and that's not morbid obesity. Help her get fit if she's not, but don't court an eating disorder. But I digress. The point is that when your PGCPS child gets to a good college, they will be competitive with students of similar SES from less-successful school districts around the country. Maybe they won't get into HYP, but most kids in Bethesda, McLean, Beverly Hills, or Westchester won't go to HYP.
