Is the Underground tour fun? Worth the time?
I love the underground tour. Are you the OP, so you're asking whether it's worth it for elementary school aged kids? It's a nice combo of history and creepy. And there's a lot of potty humor because they have to spend so much time talking about the original sewage systems. There is quite a bit of standing and listening, so your kids have to be up for that kind of tour. (And they keep you on the tour path pretty carefully--not a lot of opportunities for wandering off and touching stuff on your own.) The other downside of the underground tour is that it's in Pioneer Square, which isn't a super fun neighborhood for families these days. Nightlife is still good, and it's right next to the stadiums, but I don't know what else I'd do in Pioneer Square with a family, except go to the big toy store, I guess. Or maybe do the underground tour in combination with an outing to the waterfront?
