But GS camp is affordable and fun.   Girls might not do so much high adventure.   The day camps are staffed mostly by volunteers. Girls do singing, arts and crafts, some adventure.     GS camp lets a LOT of girls have the fun of camp.   NOt just those who can pay $400-$500 a week!

My DD did a week of sleep away adventure camp with the Girl Scouts two years in a row - caving, rafting, all sorts of stuff.
She came home filthy and happy each time. The Girl Scouts happen to own some gorgeous, breathtaking properties - don't knock what you don't know.

I'd recommend the horse camp and climbing camps too. Wonderful.[/quote]
