It is normal for humans to host microorganisms throughout the body (for example, gut or skin flora, termed the microbiome). Probiotics flood our system with beneficial organisms, which effectively crowds out harmful organisms. I keep this concept in mind when I use probiotics to protect me GI system while traveling. I take probiotics before eating to prevent foreign germs from settling in my system. [/quote]
