Boris Johnson is one of the more popular political figures in Britain and has been for a long time and was a successful two term mayor of London until this year. By all accounts he's endearing and charming in person.

Are you simply stamping your own biases on him without really knowing who he is (i.e. he is a tory therefore he's bad)? Many Americans do this when it comes to British figures.

Anyway, the rumor is that the Queen privately supports Brexit. If true, then she can't possibly dislike Boris Johnson ;)

The Queen takes her responsibilities seriously. Regardless of who the prime minister was, she treated all of them exactly the same. She is privately known to have disliked Tony Blair tremendously but she never failed to meet with him and always behaved impeccably towards him.

Sadly, if the vote to exit goes through, Cameron is finished.  Boris is his likely successor.  Could you see him sitting down for tea with the Queen every week?[/quote]

I agree that she would uphold the tradition.  She probably wouldn't care for him all that much, though.  I can see her saying, "Oh shit, him again?"
