They can want anything they want, but not a chance I'd get a 14 year old $150 sneakers every 2 months. I don't spend that on my shoes. You can buy new for under $200. I don't spend a fortune, my kid has 2-3 times what he needs and all new.
I didn't say I buy them. But it came as a shock to me when my kid actually started caring about his clothes. I miss the $12 Old Navy jeans and buying the same pair of canvas Vans over and over again.
I stopped buying Old Navy after toddler sizes except on a rare occasion. I don't like the quality/fabrics. I was paying $3-5 for jeans. Not a chance I'd pay $12 for ON. Children's Place sometimes has $4-5 jeans up to size 12 online for boys. Wait till a clearance when you can do a coupon and free shipping. (I think 12, not sure as the highest size I have put away is 10 right now, except some Larges of other brands). Their in store selection for boys sizes is very poor. We did Vans when my son was little - at the outlet they had buy one get one 1/2 off so I'd get the next size up. He prefers UA, Adidas and Nike. My son is 6 and gotten really opinionated about clothing. It started around 5. I've been averaging $10-25 for his sneakers lately. Not looking forward to the 12-16+ growth spurts and shoes...
