I would make sure that the child knows that taking this course means giving up a lot of other opportunities before I would allow my child to do this, no matter how driven the child is. Kids don't always understand in advance the number of hours required for a course like this, and that they may end up with a less firm understanding of the material because of rushing through it by taking it over a few weeks instead of over an entire school year.
