[ No the Episcopal Church was not suspended. Certain restrictions were placed on their ability to do certain things, but they were not suspended.
from ArchBishop Welby's Comminique on the Primates Meeting- We remain committed to being together, albeit we asked that TEC, while attending and playing a full part in our meetings and all discussions, will not represent the Anglican Communion to other churches and should not be involved in standing committees for a period of three years. During this time we also asked that they not vote on matters of doctrine or how we organise ourselves. http://www.episcopalcafe.com/archbishop-of-canterbury-wades-in-on-primates-meeting/ That sure sounds like a suspension to me.
Organizations that are suspended are not allowed to do the bolded.
Will you take the work of the Washington Post? Episcopalians SUSPENDED from world-wide Anglican Communion . https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/acts-of-faith/wp/2016/01/14/anglican-communion-suspends-the-episcopal-church-for-3-years-from-committees/?tid=pm_local_pop_b
You're going to take a WaPo headline over a communication from a senior church official? Some realities,,what it means is that they can't vote at meetings. The Anglican Communion will still continue to gladly take US funding from the Episcopal church.
You really need to read more before posting. Here's a list of stories about the break including ReligionToday and ABC News and the New York Times. https://www.google.com/?gws_rd=ssl#q=episcopal+church+in+u.s.+disciplined+by+anglican+body. By the way ECUSA (Episcopal Church) of USA is broke so isn't sending any money to the Anglican Communion. Less than 600,000 Episcopalians attend services on Sundays in the USA. Schori bankrupted the church with litigation. She had to sell off the NYC headquarters. National Cathedral can not get the repairs from the VA 2012 earthquake done because there is no money. Small episcopal churches were ordered shuttered and sold by her to pay for litigatioin. She left the church in tatters and was forced out. See membership here. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Episcopal_Church_(United_States).
