The whole college recruiting process is soo flawed as too much has been controlled by the club coach who often times "hypes" up a kid. Remember, these club programs love to brag about the number of early verbals they have on their current xyz team. It's pure marketing. The club coach could care less if the kid doesn't oan out in 2 - 3 years or if the kid is socially happy in choosing that school.

I really think you will see a shift back to HS coaches who will be more involved in the recruiting process. My son was fortunate enough to go to an IAC school where his head coach has very strong relationships - he had quit his club team in the fall of his sophomore year as both my husband and I thought it was insane how much we were traveling in the summer and not to mention the club tournament fees.
