suit yourself. I was only trying to help the OP not to have the unrealistic expectation that her DS is competing for one of 10-12 spots . It would be a shame for her to feel he got WL or rejected instead of one of those 10 spots , when really do to alumni kids who were well qualified, there were really only 3 spots.

THis is not speculation though . It is fact. How would I know? Well, STA makes an effort to be sure all the parents welcome " new families" in C Form ( the ones who have not been with us since Pre-K at Beauvoir) We have planned social functions and one of the first questions asked is : " what school did DS come from?" There are only 10-12 of these new families in C form. I'd say by the time back to school night rolls around everyone knows each other and that includes knowing if Dad went to STA or MOM went to NCS.

With tuition at the 40K mark, it is not uncommon for STA alumns to send their kids to Mann, Eaton, Sommerset or MOCO or NOVA PS until 4th grade. Really, it is pretty common.
