I am at a total loss for a name. Don't like the usual Neel, Rohan, Raj etc. Would like to have an easy to pronounce and intuitive to spell name. Any ideas on either names or recommendations on books/websites?
Uh, well, those names you listed are the westernized abbreviated names I had Indian friends named Gopalakrishna and Venkatesh Are you Indian? If so you know know some names?
Those are not westernized names, they are names. Raj is often times a nickname, yet still a legitimate Indian name and Indian nickname. Gopalkrishna and Venkatesh are very South Indian names, they are also names that are more common in older generations not current. You know like the differences between American names that were popular in the 70s v/s now. That may or may not be what OP is looking for. (Yes names have popularity decades in other cultures too. Must be surprising to you.) Have you only known 2 Indians in your lifetime? Time to expand your horizons.
