He insists. In his real life he does emergency response , planning etc. Things are fine when he's around, but he travels all the time and usually isn't. In that case, we really have nothing as a backup plan..I just ordered some battery operated lanterns for delivery today. All we've got is a couple of crappy flashlights. I dont have a number to reach him. Just hear from him when he's able to email and text (different time zone). I find I am really cranky today about the charger situation. Wil be nursing my cell phone all weekend hoping power doesn't go out. I didn't even know we had a charger until I asked him (via email) if he thought it would be a.good idea if I picked one up. His response: Its here or maybe here, but dont worry. I'll be back. Would it have been too much to ask that he get it out and buy a couple jugs of water before the trip? Or we make an actual family I know this is just a big vent but I often feel left holding the bag and the sunny optimism - dont worry,I'm back Sat afternoon and have rented a four wheel drive, is actually making me madder! Thoughts?
OP, this is a good time for you to learn how to handle an emergency weather situation without your husband's professional assistance. The Red Cross has a guide here: http://www.redcross.org/prepare/disaster/winter-storm. Some of these things seem a little bit excessive to me. You don't need to find copies of personal documents, for example, since you're not evacuating your home, but do make sure that you and your kids have winter weather clothing and if you have pets, make sure that you have enough food for them as well. It's really not that complicated, and you can buy jugs of water yourself.
