New to the area and don't have friends that ski or snowboard regularly to have specialized gloves, helmet or goggles.

Go to Dicks/REI/target/wherever and try them on. If they don't fit, you will be annoyed. Or wait till your at the slope and head to the ski shop there - though you will pay for the convenience. [/quote]
