Oooh, this story reminds me a little bit about when I went out on a date with a guy who asked me very early into our first date how I would handle it if he had a disagreement with his mom and sister. It was a long time ago so I don't remember the details, but he gave me a real example, and essentially he wanted to know if I would "back him" 100% or if I would try to get him to see his mom and his sister's point of view.

Despite the fact that this obviously belied a very weird hang up!, I told him that I would tell him whatever I thought, but I did say that I wouldn't get involved directly with his mom or sister about a disagreement between them. That was not good enough for him! He decided we were not to be.  :-( I've been crying ever since. [/quote]
