Ok - cool stories chic here. Here's 2 more .... Enjoy! None of this stuff is made up. :) Another guy I met online was a manager at a sushi restaurant. Well, as you can guess, I met him at 6 p.m. on a Saturday for casual sushi dinner. The guy was 42, a former teacher with DC Public Schools, got annoyed with teaching, and decided to get into the sushi business. All good, but then he told me he lives in a group house, they all do pot together all the time, and Saturday nights are so much better to go out because on Friday nights everyone is so tired from the work week. He was yawning too. I asked him “Who do you date… 25 year olds?” It became very awkward and after 45 minutes we just sat there in silence. Really uncomfortable. So I said, well I’m going to get another drink before I go meet my sister. He just sat there and wouldn’t leave. Meanwhile I was desperately texting my sister to come meet me earlier. Finally the rain stopped so I told him that I was going to go. Suddenly Sushi Guy perked up and asked “Do you want a ride?” I asked how, and he said on my bike. Turns out the guy had a motorcycle. I had never been on a motorcycle before so I said “Fuck it. Sure, I’ll take a ride”. So I put on a helmet, grabbed on, and we took off on the two-block drive to where I was meeting my sister. I got off, gave him a hug, and never saw him again. So, bucket list check: I now know what it’s like to be on a motorcycle. I now know it’s not something I like to do. Thanks Sushi Guy! I met another guy from online and shocker… he ended up not being who I thought he was. He told me he ran a lot and was constantly buying new sneakers. However, when I met him, he was not a runner.I was a little ticked off because I felt like he lied to me. I made nice and had drinks and appetizers at the bar. He was nice enough, but I only liked him from the neck up and not the sound of his voice. At some point I went to the bathroom trying to get my girlfriend to come out. I came back and told the guy that my friend was coming and I was just going to stick around. I guess he thought that meant that he was going to hang out too. So he got another beer. I began to get frustrated. I really don’t like being the person to say “Ok, I’m not feeling it, gotta go.” I wanted him to leave! But he didn’t, so I found a small corner of the bar and hid. Finally, the bartenders came over and asked if I was ok. I asked if he left and they said yes. Phew! However, the story goes continues… I took a cab home. I was $5 bucks short of the fare, and the cab driver proceeded to lock me in the cab and call the cops. Two cop cars arrived, agreed with the cab driver, and proceeded to watch over me as I went to an ATM to get money out. Just crazy! Lesson learned - Uber is always a good choice to make. :)
Did you just say "sorry" to the driver and expect him to waive the fee? That's a little weird ... Honestly, a lot of your stories sound kind of ... childish ... to me. Why are you going places with no way to get yourself home? Why are you sneaking away from people? Just leave. A lot of weird drama here. And yes, I am a woman who has had her share of uncomfortable/bad/unpleasant internet dates. After one kind of scary one where I was out on the water with no way to get home except for this guy I'd just met, it never happened again. You're setting yourself up for some of this stuff ...
Aww, come on PP, this is a fun thread! Can we keep the chiding in the other threads? Maybe she is young! Although my responsible 30+ self agrees that $5 is not like asking someone to waive 30 cents.
