Maybe that persons income is extrodinarly low and it is a way for the boss to shore her up. I do this with MBOs when maybe the person doesn't fully deserve the full MBO, but their salary is out of wack with everyone else.
Nope. She makes 5k less than I do.
So she makes 5K less than you do, but you got 5K more in bonus than she did? That means you netted 10k more than she did for 2016, correct?
Yes. And if you knew our roles/contributions this would be shocking. I get that I just have to accept it, etc. but this is tough to take. Imagine someone coming in, screwing things up (multiple projects) which leads to more work for you...and then this person gets 100% of her bonus...while you get a smaller percentage of a smaller number (and you are lied to by your boss who claims no one got all of what was expected). So, it's not about this person's amount, per say, it's more about feeling disrespected and lied to by my boss) and feeling like I'm not being treated fairly. Hmm, I think I've answered my own question, right? It just isn't right. I guess I start looking around in the new year.
Yes, you start looking, you leverage that promotion you got this year, and you only give your crappy manager the standard 2 weeks notice.
