A know a family who has one at each. They both love their schools and are thriving. Very similar kids. Both are very preppy, smart, conservative kids, and liberal arts leaning.
Wake is not conservative....
Not true. It certainly has some kids who are not conservative, but it is Southern (conservative), pulls a lot of kids from the South, and was a part of the Southern Baptist Convention until about 20 years ago. It's not Bob Jones University or anything, but it defiantly swings more conservative than most top 30 colleges. -- an alum
The school has NOT been affiliated with the Southern Baptists for many decades (final monetary ties were severed in the 80s? but it had been distanced for decades before that...really once the college moved to Winston and the SBC opened a new seminary on the old campus). There is still a Baptist congregation on the campus, but they are independent from both the University and all the Baptist Conventions (even one of the alternative independent Baptist associations parted ways with them back in the 90's because they were too liberal!).
