That is an asinine thing to say.  You obviously have no clue what you are talking about. BASIS has a great model and selective admissions will allow them to provide a great private school education. We are a former BASIS family who loved that the school, unlike others, doesn't teach to the lowest common denominator. They  know what children are capable of and challenge them. Had Sean Aiken stayed as HOS for BASIS DC, we would still be there. He is a smart, dynamic, charismatic leader who was a teacher and is passionate about education.[/quote]

Challenging them? With what? 5 hours of homework each night? Relentless tests? No time for anything but studying? Absolutely zero balance? Hyped up competition between classmates? I guess that's fine if you want to take all balance out of your child's childhood so that they spend the rest of their lives regretting it. [/quote]

Is this the same pp who called it an inner city? School? Believe me, in 4 years my DC has never had more than 2 hours of homework a night, takes an outside of school music class, plays baseball, attends Scouts,, takes one extracurricular at school and is on the honor roll. Balance is possible, especially if you cut down on the video games/Instagram/snapchat. It's called prioritizing education. [/quote]
