I think part of the reason that the National PTA doesn't ask their member PTA's to go paperless is that they encourage ALL parents to join - even those who do not have internet access. Perhaps those without internet access did not participate in your programs and activities because you did not tell them about it, or they didn't feel welcome? It is 2015, but we live in a diverse socioeconomic area, and to be inclusive means reaching out via paper in backpacks if that's the only method that you have to access some parents. For our PTA it means interpreters at all activities and events, and volunteers to translate everything that the PTA sends home. We make the effort, and they show up. This also means that we send ALL of our paperwork home in two languages, being mindful of the length so as not to use too much paper. [/quote]
