And I will add I am.so happy my kid has shipped off to college. The most dangerous thing to be in this city is a young person, preyed on by other young people. Predators. I seriously hope for rehabilitation for them because what they got from the first 18-19 years of life from their own families, thuggy peers and nihilistic, misogynist music and role.models the message life is cheap and image and 'fronting' is everything.
I'm a millenial and one night I walked from dupont circle to stadium armory (this was in march) at 2-3am. I'm a small framed guy. It was a thursday night. I didn't feel like I was in danger.
were you in DC when the Trinidad neighborhood was shut down? They had police checkpoints for going into the area in 2008. did you know any of the young millenials who have been victims of violence? a co-worker was a victim of stray bullet in Shaw at 5PM on Saturday. just because you survived something does not mean it was a smart thing to do.
