At what age do you start taking them separately? My girls are 12 and 14. I have always taken them at the same time, but now I'm wondering if they should start going separately. They are both very modest - they won't even change clothes in front of each other. Also, at what age do you stop going in the room with them? I still do this, but am wondering if it would be better for me to stay in the waiting room.
My children are way younger yet (son 5.5, daughter 3) but our policy is the following: - separate visits: from birth. They need to learn that their relationship with a doctor is confidential and they need to learn that as soon as possible. - staying in the rooom with them. As long as they wish me to. No way I'm leaving them if that makes them uncomfortable. If I'm not welcome to stay, it's time for a new doctor.
