She says she leaves teethmarks on things. Maybe her home is arrange so that there is not a way to close the dog off in a larger space--maybe she doesn't want to risk having her couch eaten. Dog owners usually have an intuition about what level of destruction there dog is capable of and hers is telling her it needs to be crated when she's gone. That being said--I see no reason why the dog needs to be crated at night unless he won't settle down otherwise--because some dogs are just fidgety and settle down at night without the confines of a crate.[/quote]
