You cannot apply to be a member of Jack and Jill which lets me know you know nothing about the organization.  You have to be invited to join by an existing member and then sponsored by that member, which is why the chapters are relatively small. So, we have now established that you have never been invited by anyone to join - this is because you either do not know anyone in the organization or you do know people in the organization but they have NEVER invited you to join because they do not believe you would be a good fit.  So as a firmly established NON-MEMBER of the organization, who has never attended a J&J meeting or function, you do not qualify to speak about the organization.   However, just so you will not keep spewing "outsider with my nosed pressed against the window" ignorance, please research the organization's history online and take a look at some of the chapter websites and you will gain some insight as to what the organization is really about. Exactly! I'm the poster she's referring to.  All she did is confirm my stance that it's an organization wanting desperately to set itself apart and excludive and high class.

For one, the truly elite don't have to work at excluding or trying to separate from others. You're BORN or married into it. The high class don't sit around waiting on an invite to apply. Pretentious. But the invitation only is clearly the best you can do when you're not truly highly esteemed but want to feel as if you do.

Trust and believe, with my background and credentials you'd beg me to join your organization. But I'd never want to. I know that I'm extremely blessed, enjoy a life your members can only pretend to have, and have a healthy dose of self-esteem that aallows me to be embrace others and be grateful for all I have.

That so much of your self-worth comes from belonging to an invite only organization (especially as an adult) is quite telling.
