I'm a generous tipper for restaurants and places where tips ARE the person's income. But not at places like Chipotle. They make decent money for the experience/workload required. My niece works there and makes $10/hour.
How is $10/hr "decent" money? It might be decent for a teenager living in her parent's house. How much do you make an hour? You're living in la la land.
Yes, it is decent money for a teenager living with her parents, which is how I would describe the majority of non-management Chipotle employees I've come across. It's decent money for an entry-level job that requires no education or prior experience. The comment was made to distinguish between workers who make an actual wage, and restaurant servers who make, what, $2.50 an hour? Of course $10/hour is not a living wage. That's a completely different argument. Me dropping 78 cents in a can that will be split among 5 or more people is not going to change anybody's circumstances.
