I agree with the school is school sentiment which is why I'm so dismayed that classrooms are packed up and have been packed up for several days now. My 3rd grader has even been helping to pack up as part of the school day. It's supposed to be an instructional day. Why don't the teachers have some days in their contract to pack up their classrooms once kids have left?
My K student has had the same situation, except rather the lead teacher or assistant has been out every day as well. It's shameful.
The same is happening at my daughter's charter, though it's not the school's fault - they are starting renovations, and the teachers have been told they have to be all packed up by the end of the day today. They're more irritated about it than anyone - they'd love to be able to come in and leisurely pack up next week, rather than doing it in the morning and evenings this week (around all the parent-teacher conferences).
