If you are in a position of always having to "shut things down" you are going to read this a different way than someone without experiences like that.[/quote] The "idiot" part was in response to the last sentence, which was needlessly guilt-inducing and dramatic. And contentious does not have to equal dramatic. It becomes dramatic when you go on their trip and get all worked up about it. Simply heading off inappropriate behavior and calmly declining to engage is pretty much the opposite of dramatic.[/quote]
