Some things of which you will want to be aware:  75 (central) is a parking lot.  Don't live anywhere 75 will be any part of your commute.  Look at school systems.  School ratings closely align with the quality of the neighborhood.  Good schools = good neighborhood.  It's just the way it is in Dallas.  Trees.  It's hot hot hot, so consider shade and access to swimming.  Also at a minimum if you're considering a condo, get covered parking.  There are no basements.  So either get rid of stuff or rent a storage unit.  Public transportation sucks.  People drive to get everywhere.  On the bright side, you can get anywhere from DFW. Lastly, Austin is only 3 1/2 hours and it's a lot of fun, nice funky arts scene, walkable, fun.  Finally Dallas is great for fine dining and shopping.....in abundance.  There's a lot of nice people there.[/quote]
