I'm 40, not yet divorced, mother of two under 5 and pretty ok looking and I find that this isn't true. However, I have to say the pool is very small unless one wants to jump to the 50yr old man range. I would prefer to stick to someone who is 40-45z [/quote]

It's not true. I have 5 friends who divorced in their mid 30's with young kids.  All remaried within 3 years of their divorce.  But their kids have all suffered in the process - learning to deal with living in two homes, having holidays split up between houses or not even seeing their one parent on a holiday, step siblings, etc.  One friend is actually headed for her 2nd divorce.
