LA is disgusting.  Honestly, it is awful.  San Diego, maybe but there is not much else to do with a 4yr old in LA.

With a 4yr old, there is no way I would take a 5hr long plane ride to DL.  That is a vacation for when they get older and maybe you want to explore more of California.  I would 100% go to DW.  Even if it is during the hot summer months, if it is 95 and humid in DC and 100 and humid in Orlando, it makes little difference.

With a 4yr old you go at rope drop and get on a lot of rides.  Leave between noon-1pm and go the pool and then take naps.  Back to the parks around 5pm for the more rides, parades, fireworks.  You avoid being in the park during the hottest and busiest part of the day.  Stay onsite either on the monorail or save money and stay at Pop Century or Art of Animation.  Both areas a 4yr would love.  They have transportation right to the hotels so there is no need to rent a car.

And if you want to do anything else outside of Disney there is Sea World, Legoland, Universal, etc... but for the first trip I would just stay inside the DW and do everything there.   [/quote]
