A LARGE majority of the 1000 PK4 that didn't get in anywhere are at a school already. My guess they are at a pretty good school since the median # of schools on application is 4. That means they are likley already at a top 5 school and looking to "move up"

Then what's the reasoning that the PK3 median is also 4.  That was the one data point that really surprised me.  Did people not apply to 12 schools?

I can't speak for everyone, but I only put 2 schools on our list. They had to be workable with my commute to work, which I do on foot/Metro. There was no point in me adding additional schools because we would have just stayed in daycare for another year and then entered our IB at K. [/quote]

I suspect many PK3 families that have sibling preference that only select 1-2 schools is driving down the median for PK3. You didn't get into your IB? WOTP? Did you apply to AT? What #?
