Maybe your sister doesn't tolerate it like you do. You've let it go on for a long time, so things are unlikely to change the first time you tell him to stop. However, the fact that he doesn't behave like that around your sister showed he does have a filter and he is capable of behaving. Show them you're serious and you don't want those behaviors around your children. Stop the visit when fighting, racial and sexist slurs, or insults to your family occur. Let tem know why or they'll never change. After they see you're serious, they'll either change or they won't be able to do harm to your family.

I grew up with grandparents like this. I wish my mother had stood up to them and shielded me from that, instead of letting me be exposed to that in order to avoid hurting her parents' feelings. [/quote]
