Petworth is a fantastic place to be. It's central...easy to get onto the Parkway to head downtown or into Virginia and easy trip up GA Ave or over to South Dakota to get to Maryland. Lots of new restaurants moving in, new Safeway, metro accessible, multiple bus lines. [b]People love to throw out crime as a problem, but I personally think people that say that stuff are usually bumpkin suburbanites who don't have the same sensibilities of people who like to live in the city.[/b] To each his own. Say whatever you want...if Petworth isn't for you, so be it. But lots of people are happy to pay $700 to $900K for a rowhouse. Glad we bought ours 12 years ago for $200K. Cha-ching! [/quote]

No. I have lived in Berlin and other European cities all my life, and I am not used to nor do I have any tolerance for the levels of crime in Petworth. So I moved WOTP, into a walkable area. I realize not everyone can afford that (although our house was less than the one that is the topic of this thread), but it is definitely not only suburbanites who have low tolerance for crime.[/quote]
