"strange" pp here. That wasn't what you asked. You didn't ask what the customs were and if they were different. That would not have seemed as strange to me as your question.  All the PPs talking about arm coverings as their example of dress codes varying among religions, what you are leaving out is that the variation is WITHIN religions, in Christianity and Judaism you can find groups that really care about bare arms and ones that don't, so your explanation does not hold water. The information OP gave is not enough to determine whether denominational differences like that would come into play. Not all Jews are the same.
