This.  If money's no object, go nuts.   But be aware that what you're paying for in part is housing and wages for marquee name profs your child might or might not get and creation of international campuses in countries with questionable freedom of expression.   No one should send their child to NYU without reading this New Yorker article about the current NYU president's questionable mission.

between reading this and other research my husband and I did, we ruled out NYU for our oldest (who's now happily at W&M for a lot lot less and better academics).

Again, it is an individual choice -- there are some good programs, and some benefits from living in NYC, but IMO there is no way those benefits are worth the cost of attending NYU as an undergrad.

I went there and refuse to give because Sexton:  a)  gave Lew $900K when he left (and this clown resigned on his own and made a mint at Citigroup and b)  they are giving financial aid to illegal aliens.  Guess if you are trying to strive from the working class, you don't count in this megalomaniac's world.[/quote]
